​Jacqueline Reyes

​On June 1, 2022, Jacqueline “Jacky” Reyes voluntarily collected her personal belongings and left a family member’s home in the Boynton Beach area in Palm Beach County, Florida.  Jacky had resided at her family member’s home since January of 2022.  At the time of the initial report, and based upon the initial investigation by deputies, Jacky left her family member’s home voluntarily following a family disagreement, and there was no indication of foul play.

​Niqui McCown

​ Twenty-eight-year-old prison guard Niqui McCown was engaged to Bobby Webster. On Sunday, July 22, 2001, just three weeks before their wedding, she arrived at her mother's house upset. She told her about an incident involving two men who harassed her and wouldn't leave her alone at a laundromat. She was afraid to go back there to get her laundry, but she eventually left her mother's house. She vanished that day and has not been seen or heard from since. The police could not find any signs of foul play nor a motive for her to vanish.

Cierra Chapman has been missing since December 25th, 2022. Her family needs help bringing her home. A missing person report was entered into the Ohio police database on December 27th, 2022, by Cierra's a family.  Cierra's car was found on January 3rd, 2023, abandoned in Middletown.

A teenage girl found dead early Monday morning has been identified, and Denver police are searching for a vehicle believed to be involved in the girl’s homicide.
The body of Tayanna Manuel, 16, was found about 6:15 a.m. in the 4900 block of N. Salida Street, Denver police said Monday.
Police Monday evening tweeted a photo of a gray 2012 Honda CR-V with a Colorado license plate CNE-I47 and a pink and black Auto Nation dealer tag on the front saying they believe the car is involved in Manuel’s homicide.

“Sharing posts on social media, making phone calls, we have a 24-hour tip line, answering the tip line, and I’ve been actually driving around searching myself,” she said.
She said she met Kason’s family on Little York Road Wednesday afternoon to help them search the area before the family ended up leaving to search somewhere else.
“Our arms pour out to the mother and father, most definitely. I know how they feel. I watched the pain on my own mother and father’s face but finding that baby is the number one goal,” McCown-Luster said.

SUSPECT ARRESTED

Neighbor Demontrey Wattree says trotter took care of her younger siblings and had big dreams.

“Something like this you wouldn’t expect it to happen, but you got to keep your eyes open now because it’s your own neighbor that may go out there and do something to you,” Wattree said.
8 News Now spoke to Trotter’s family off camera, but they weren’t ready to speak about her death.

IF YOU ARE REPORTING A MISSING LOVED ONE WE ARE HERE TO HELP NAVIGATE THE SYSTEM.

​We create awareness for missing persons of color by providing community outreach programs to inform minority communities of ways to keep our youth safe and educate and train adults and children on ways to avoid human trafficking. The Dock Ellis Foundation works closely with families to assist with navigating the system during a critical moment when a loved one is reported missing. Our ultimate goals is to bring about a positive reunion of children with their loved ones.

According to the National Crime Information Center, one-third of the nearly 300,000 women and girls reported missing in 2020 were Black. Some have been trafficked, others abducted by people they know or by strangers. Black women are often reduced to being invisible. There is no public outcry when we go missing.

When it comes to missing persons, receiving media attention can literally be the difference between life and death. Naturally, the more people who know that someone is missing, the more opportunity there is in finding the person because more people are in position to call in tips, report sightings, or provide information. That was one of the reasons behind starting the Amber Alert system for missing children in 1996. The Missing Persons Advocacy Network refers to media as a “great asset” and provides suggestions for media engagement when someone is missing.

​STEPS TO TAKE IF A LOVED ONE GOES MISSING DEALING WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT

EVALUATE THE SITUATION

• Check the areas normally occupied by the person and leave undisturbed.
• Contact family, friends, work, and places the person is known to visit.
• Ask a friend or neighbor to help you recall information.
• Keep accurate and detailed notes of your contacts.

CONTACT LAW ENFORCEMENT

• Delays can be critical. Contact the police immediately.
• Request a missing person report be filed. (If under 18, authorities are required to investigate immediately. Police may be reluctant to take a report on an adult unless foul play is evident or the person is known to be endangered.)
• If the officer refuses to take a report, ask to speak with a supervisor.
• Be prepared to provide essential information, including recent photos.

KEEP YOUR SEARCH GOING

• Contact The Dock Ellis Foundation we will supply up to 100 missing person posters.
• Appoint a family member or friend to be the primary contact with media and law enforcement.
• Talk regularly with the officer assigned to the case.
• Make reasonable requests of the police.
• When posting a reward, work with law enforcement to decide on the details.
• Keep the public aware of your story. The police can provide guidance when contacting the news media.
