The Dock Ellis Foundation is notified in various ways: Through family members of victims, our crisis hotline, sometimes through law enforcement investigations, and even sometimes through press or online publications.
Over 600,000 individuals go missing in the United States every year. Fortunately, many missing children and adults are quickly found, alive and well. However, tens of thousands of individuals remain missing for more than one year – what many agencies consider “cold cases”. It is estimated that 4,400 unidentified bodies are recovered each year, with approximately 1,000 of those bodies remaining unidentified after one year. (source: www.NamUs.gov) Our volunteers are trained advocates that work Nationally to initiate Assistance and public Awareness to Help Bring The missing Home. |
Safety PlanningSafety planning is important at various stages in a human trafficking situation – while a victim is in the situation, during the process of leaving, and once the victim has left. The following document presents general guidelines for conducting safety planning with victims of human trafficking.

MentorshipWe are here to assist individuals with victims of crime compensation applications. We will walk you through the application and complete the paperwork on your behalf.
An application cannot be approved unless the crime was reported to the police or other proper authority. A Police Report should be provided with the application whenever possible. |
Missing PersonsWhen your case is assigned to our team, your missing loved one becomes our priority. Our team knows that each case is unique to its own circumstances. Your family will meet with our team to establish behavior patterns, close friends, and family. The Dock Ellis Foundation offers free investigative services to qualifying cases. We work closely with our sexual exploitation and Human Trafficking Investigator to bring your loved one home.
